Overview

Lexus is advancing its electrification strategy through significant updates to its SUV and sedan lineups. The brand has officially entered the Vietnamese electric vehicle market with the eighth-generation ES sedan, featuring the all-electric ES 500e. Priced at 2.94 billion VND, the ES 500e includes a 74 kWh battery, 338 horsepower, and an estimated range of 460 km. The ES lineup also offers hybrid options, such as the ES 350h Premium and Luxury.

The NX compact SUV is transitioning to an all-hybrid lineup for 2027, removing gasoline-only trims. The 2027 NX will offer the NX 350h hybrid and the NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid (PHEV), which features an increased 23 kWh battery and an estimated 45 miles of electric-only range.

In the compact segment, the LBX is scheduled for a partial improvement release on November 3, 2026. These updates focus on driving quality through increased body rigidity—achieved by reinforcing the center cross member—and chassis tuning conducted at the Nürburgring. Standardized features include a color head-up display and a drive recorder. A new exterior color, ‘Sou’, has also been added, with prices increasing by approximately 170,000 to 250,000 yen.

Flagship and mid-size updates continue. The 2027 LX SUV in the United States is adding the LX700h hybrid alongside the LX600. The RX luxury SUV has been updated with optimized control logic for its suspension and steering following Nürburgring testing, alongside technical enhancements like infrared-cut front door glass and upgraded brake hold memory functions. Conversely, production of the UX subcompact SUV will conclude in February 2027, and the TX SUV lineup will be simplified by discontinuing the TX 550h+.
