Lexus announces LBX updates and UX production end date

Lexus has announced several updates for its vehicle lineup, including a significant minor change for the LBX compact SUV and the upcoming discontinuation of the current UX model.

The Lexus LBX is scheduled for a partial improvement release on October 22, 2026, with pre-orders beginning in September 2026. Key updates include making several manufacturer options standard, such as the color head-up display (HUD), dashcam, and ITS Connect. The update also addresses previous battery issues by increasing the 12V auxiliary battery capacity and introduces a memory function for Auto Brake Hold. Additionally, improvements to suspension, steering, and body rigidity are expected to enhance driving performance.

Separately, the current Lexus UX is slated to end production in February 2027, according to the Japanese official website. While the current model is receiving a final special edition in Japan, a next-generation UX is anticipated to debut as early as late 2027. The successor is expected to feature a larger body size and may share a platform and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology with the Toyota C-HR.
