Lexus announces updates for TX and NX SUV models

Lexus has announced significant updates for its SUV lineup, including changes to the TX and NX models. For the 2027 model year, the Lexus TX will discontinue its TX 550h+ plug-in hybrid powertrain in the United States. The TX will continue to offer gasoline and standard hybrid options, utilizing a 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The hybrid variant will produce a combined 366 hp.

Additionally, Lexus unveiled the 2027 NX, a major update to its compact crossover. The NX lineup will be fully electrified, offering both hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. The NX 450h+ PHEV is expected to see an increase in electric range to an estimated 45 miles under EPA standards and will feature the North American NACS charging port. The new NX features an updated e-Axle module and the Lexus Safety System+ 4.0. The model is expected to launch globally by the end of 2026.
