Lexus updates flagship LS sedan and launches eighth-generation ES

Lexus has announced significant updates and new launches for its flagship sedan lineup. In Japan, the Lexus LS has received a technical update, transitioning to a hybrid-only lineup with the retirement of the twin-turbocharged 3.4-litre petrol V6 engine. The updated LS500h features chassis reinforcements, including a strengthened center tunnel and the use of Response-Enhancing Damping Structure (REDS) technology to reduce high-frequency vibrations. Additional upgrades include retuned adaptive suspension and electric power steering to improve handling and ride comfort.

Simultaneously, the eighth-generation Lexus ES has arrived in markets such as Hong Kong. This new generation introduces a multi-pathway powertrain architecture, offering both hybrid (HEV) and battery electric (BEV) options. The lineup includes the ES350h hybrid, the front-wheel-drive ES350e, and the flagship all-wheel-drive ES500e. The new ES is built on the GA-K platform, featuring improved structural rigidity and a significant increase in dimensions and interior space compared to its predecessor.
