Lexus unveils updated NX with enhanced plug-in hybrid range

Lexus has unveiled a significant update to its NX model, featuring enhanced plug-in hybrid technology and a redesigned interior. The new NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid version is expected to achieve an electric-only range of over 100 kilometers in Europe and will now support fast DC charging.

Beyond powertrain improvements, the vehicle features a more rigid body, an updated chassis, and improved aerodynamics to reduce noise and vibration. The interior has been completely redesigned with a focus on sensory customization, allowing the cabin to adjust lighting, music, climate, and even scent based on the occupants' mood.

Design changes include a cleaner front profile with new lighting graphics and the introduction of the ‘Double L Signature’ at the rear. The model is expected to enter various global markets starting in late 2026, with availability in some regions slated for spring 2027.
