Lexus updates LBX compact SUV with structural and driving improvements
Lexus has announced an update for the 2027 model year of its LBX compact hybrid SUV, focusing on enhanced driving comfort, stability, and safety features. The improvements were developed through testing at the Shimoyama technical center in Japan and the Nürburgring circuit in Germany.
Mechanical upgrades include a reinforced central body crossmember to increase structural rigidity, modified shock absorber valves for smoother handling on irregular surfaces, and recalibrated electric power steering for better precision. The vehicle continues to utilize the M15A-FXE 1.5-liter three-cylinder hybrid powertrain.
New standard equipment for the updated model includes a color head-up display and a driving recorder. Lexus also introduced a new body color named ‘Sou’. The updated LBX is scheduled for release in Japan on November 3.
