LG Electronics reports significant profit growth driven by AI data center cooling

LG Electronics has announced its third-quarter 2026 financial results, reporting consolidated revenue of 23.82 trillion KRW and operating profit of 781.9 billion KRW. For the first nine months of the year, cumulative revenue reached 71.38 trillion KRW, a 9.2% increase year-on-year, while cumulative operating profit rose 55.9% to 4.03 trillion KRW.

A major driver of this growth is the company’s expansion into AI data center cooling (AIDC) solutions. Cumulative orders for AIDC solutions exceeded 3 trillion KRW by the end of the third quarter, a substantial increase from approximately 600 billion KRW at the end of the second quarter. To meet this rising demand, LG plans to invest 220 billion KRW to upgrade production facilities and expand capacity, including securing a strategic industrial base in the United States near major AI data center clusters.

Other business segments also showed stability or growth. The subscription business grew 8.6% to 760 billion KRW, and B2B revenue increased 3.4% to 6.1 trillion KRW. While the home appliance and vehicle solution sectors maintained steady profitability, the media and entertainment segment showed significant improvement compared to the previous year.
