LG unveils AI Home ecosystem at IFA 2026
At the IFA 2026 trade fair in Berlin, LG presented its expanded AI Home ecosystem, designed to automate household tasks and adapt to user habits. The showcase focused on the concept of technology adjusting to humans rather than requiring manual control.
Central to this ecosystem is the LG ThinQ platform and the ThinQ ON control unit. Key innovations include the AI Fresh feature for refrigerators, which learns a household's usage patterns over approximately three weeks. By recognizing peak usage times, such as breakfast periods, the refrigerator can preemptively increase cooling performance to maintain food stability.
Other showcased technologies include the ThinQ Claw, a text-based AI assistant that uses natural language and context to manage home systems, and the LG CLOiD robot, which acted as a symbolic conductor for the integrated devices. The goal of the AI Core-Tech approach is to create a more efficient, automated environment where appliances like washing machines and dishwashers can independently adjust settings based on load and usage patterns.
