LG Uplus launches AI security monitoring to combat smishing

LG Uplus has launched a 24-hour AI-driven security monitoring system to combat smishing and phishing attacks during the Chuseok holiday period. The initiative utilizes the 'Secure. AI+' technology to proactively identify and block control servers used by malicious applications to manage compromised devices.

Operating from the Magok office in Seoul, experts monitor network activities around the clock to intercept threats before they reach customer devices. This approach aims to prevent mobile phones from being converted into 'zombie phones' by interrupting communication between malware and attacker infrastructure.

When suspicious activity is detected, LG Uplus notifies affected users via KakaoTalk and coordinates with law enforcement through the police hotline 1394.
