LGBTQ Pride celebrations held in João Pessoa, Brazil and Faro, Portugal
In João Pessoa, Brazil, the Coordenadoria de Promoção à Cidadania LGBT organized activities for Pride month. On June 26 the group distributed informational material at the Caravana do Cuidar in Praça das Mangueiras, Alto do Mateus, and on June 27 it held a presence at Sabadinho Bom in Praça Barão do Rio Branco. Coordinator Geraldo Filho emphasized services such as psychological, gynecological and endocrinological care and noted Brazil’s high rate of anti‑LGBTQ violence.
In Faro, Portugal, the 6th Algarve LGBTQ Pride March is set for June 20. The event will include a public march, a silent march in memory of LGBTQ victims, and a concluding celebration at the local beer factory. Organized by five regional groups and backed by the Faro municipal council, the march underscores the slogan “Our existence is not debatable” and focuses on defending human rights and combating prejudice.
