LGBTQIA+ tourism initiatives and research launch in Brazil
The 10th International Diversity Conference is currently taking place in São Paulo, focusing on LGBTQIA+ tourism, inclusive business, and community participation in cultural and sporting sectors. A key highlight of the event is the launch of the ‘Brasil LGBT 2026’ research, developed by the LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Tourism of Brazil in partnership with IEMI – Inteligência de Mercado. This study analyzes the consumption habits and travel behaviors of the LGBTQIA+ population and tourists in Brazil to provide data for companies and tourism professionals.
Embratur is supporting the conference, presenting initiatives such as ‘Brasil Destinos de Orgulho’ to promote Brazilian destinations to international LGBTQIA+ travelers. The agency is also mediating panels with foreign journalists and influencers to discuss tourism experiences in São Paulo.
In a related regional development, the III Love Iguassu Festival is being held in Foz do Iguaçu from September 24 to 27. The festival aims to strengthen LGBTQIA+ tourism in the Triple Frontier region—connecting Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay—through activities including a sunset event at the Iguaçu Falls and technical visits to the Itaipu Binacional plant.
