Liberal Party in Honduras to analyze electrical sector reforms

The Liberal Party caucus in Honduras is scheduled to meet with party mayors and authorities in Tegucigalpa to analyze proposed reforms to the electrical subsector. The meeting, organized by National Congress Secretary Francis Cabrera, aims to evaluate the current energy situation and discuss the implications of the legislative project.

Cabrera noted that the responsibility for resolving energy sector issues lies with the government, which he identified as being led by the National Party. He suggested that potential solutions should include demanding debt payments from large businesses regarding electricity services and reviewing contracts with thermal power companies that may be detrimental to the country. The Liberal Party emphasized that any support for the reforms must be vetted and backed by the full caucus before proceeding through the legislative process.
