Liberec Region funds monument surveys and museum park renovation
The Liberec Region has approved funding for several cultural and historical preservation projects. Through a specific construction-historical survey program, the regional assembly allocated 728,656 CZK to 14 projects. This funding is intended for professional documentation to map the structural development and current state of historical sites, such as the Church of St. Lawrence in Dlouhý Most, Zbiroh Castle in Koberovy, and the historical rectory in Liberec, to facilitate future restoration.
Separately, the region has approved an increased contribution of 11.4 million CZK toward the renovation of the park at the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec. The total cost of the project has risen to 49.7 million CZK, an increase of approximately 8% from original estimates. Deputy Governor Edvard Kožušník cited rising construction material costs, changes in project methodology by subsidy providers, and the relocation of a public transport stop as reasons for the budget increase. The renovation includes installing permeable stone paving, new lighting, and an irrigation system, with completion expected by the end of the year.
