Liberec Region cultural heritage preservation
Overview
The Liberec Region has initiated several cultural and historical preservation efforts. Initially, the region launched a six-concert series titled ‘Putování za varhanními skvosty Libereckého kraje’ (Journey through the organ treasures of the Liberec Region). Supported by a 100,000-Czech-koruna grant, the series utilizes historic churches to showcase restored pipe organs as cultural landmarks.
Following this, the regional assembly approved further funding for historical documentation and infrastructure. A 728,656 CZK allocation was designated for 14 construction-historical survey projects to map the state of sites such as Zbiroh Castle and the Church of St. Lawrence. Additionally, the region increased its contribution to 11.4 million CZK for the renovation of the North Bohemian Museum park in Liberec. The total cost for the park project has risen to 49.7 million CZK due to rising material costs and other logistical changes, with completion anticipated by the end of the year.
