Liberec to pay 700,000 CZK for failed school relocation

The city of Liberec will incur costs of 700,000 CZK due to a failed relocation attempt of the Kaplického Primary School. The school was forced to move into a provisional building in Mařanova Street, only to be moved back to its original site within a week because the temporary facility failed to meet safety and fire protection standards.

The Liberec City Council approved a special contribution of 700,000 CZK to cover the extraordinary expenses associated with this double move. Additionally, the city is considering negotiating with the Technical University of Liberec to purchase the building at Mařanova 650 to resolve ongoing space issues. The school's director, Pavel Zeronik, has requested further temporary spaces due to time constraints caused by the ongoing reconstruction of the school's permanent building.
