Liberia former NSA official sentenced to 50 years for statutory rape
Peter Bon Jallah, a 63-year-old former National Security Agency official in Liberia, has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the statutory rape of a 16-year-old boy. The sentence was handed down on November 3, 2026, by Criminal Court ‘E’ Judge Wesseh Alphonsus Wesseh Sr. in Monrovia.
During the proceedings, the prosecution utilized DNA evidence and testimony from 12 witnesses, including medical personnel and a forensic examiner. While Jallah was convicted of statutory rape, he was acquitted of gang rape due to insufficient evidence.
Additionally, the judge overturned a previous kidnapping conviction on jurisdictional grounds, ruling that the charge must be refiled in Criminal Court ‘A’. Jallah, who has denied the allegations, plans to appeal both the conviction and the sentence to the Supreme Court of Liberia.
