Library Promotion Foundation opens 30th Library Research Contest
The Library Promotion Foundation has announced the call for entries for the 30th Library Research Contest. The competition, which aims to promote library usage and inquiry-based learning, is open to a wide range of participants, including elementary, junior high, and high school students, as well as university students, working adults, and groups consisting of both children and adults.
Participants are encouraged to submit works that summarize the results of their investigations into personal questions or interests, utilizing library resources and incorporating hands-on experiences or field research. The application period runs from September 7, 2026, through October 6, 2026.
Notable awards include the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award, the Japan Tourism Agency Commissioner's Award, the 2030 Biodiversity Framework Implementation Japan Conference Award, and the National Theatre Award. Winners will receive various prizes, including digital book cards, and top performers will be invited to an award ceremony in Tokyo. Results are expected to be announced on January 13, 2027.
