Library services and media centers expand in Laval and Thouars

Several regional library and media center projects are scheduled for development or relaunch through 2026. In Laval, the Médiabus mobile library service will resume operations from September to December 2026. The mobile unit will visit 15 different neighborhoods, including Les Vignes, le Bourny, and the Gare district, to provide free access to books and cultural materials directly within residential areas.

In Thouars, a new media center is set to open on September 1, 2026. The €9.7 million project aims to serve as a central hub for the intercommunal reading network, featuring digital spaces, cultural animation areas, and a garden. The architectural design integrates historic facades with contemporary metal elements. Meanwhile, in Beauvais, the expansion and restructuring of the Argentine media library is underway to increase its public area from 357 m² to 644 m², though the project has faced timeline delays.
