Libreville market fire causes significant material damage
A fire broke out during the night of September 24 to September 25 at the Ambowé market in Libreville, Gabon. The blaze destroyed several commercial stalls located near the market area.
While no human casualties were reported, the fire caused significant material losses for local traders. Municipal authorities, including Libreville Mayor Eugène M’ba and Deputy Mayor Roméo Juste Mouyopa, visited the site to assess the damage and coordinate with affected merchants. Firefighters managed to contain the flames before they could spread to further structures, and security forces established a perimeter around the area. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown.
