Librino selected as new venue for Catania's Fiera dei Morti

The 2026 Fiera dei Morti is expected to change its venue to the ‘Porta delle Farfalle’ area in Librino. The Catania municipal government, led by Mayor Enrico Trantino, is set to deliberate on this proposal following a recommendation from Councilor for Productive Activities Giuseppe Musumeci.

The relocation from the previously selected Nesima Cittadella dello Sport parking lot follows safety, logistical, and organizational assessments. Issues identified at the Nesima site included necessary infrastructure interventions, traffic management difficulties, and insufficient time for setup. The matter was reviewed during a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security.

The event is scheduled to run from October 24 to November 2, featuring approximately 100 exhibitors, food areas, recreational zones, and artisanal spaces. Setup is planned to begin on October 22, with dismantling and site restoration concluding by November 4.
