Lidl expands trout fillet recall due to Listeria risk

Lidl has expanded its recall of Nautica brand rainbow trout fillets following the detection of Listeria. The manufacturer, Danforel A/S, initially issued a recall on October 20 for the 'Natur' and 'Pfeffer' varieties with an expiration date of October 20, 2026.

The expanded recall now includes the 'Natur' variety with additional expiration dates of October 31, November 1, and November 3, 2026. The affected 125-gram packages were sold in several German states, including Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland.

Consumers are strongly advised not to consume the affected products. The items can be returned to any Lidl store for a full refund, even without a receipt. Listeria infection can cause gastrointestinal issues and flu-like symptoms, posing significant risks to pregnant women, young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.
