Lidl extends non‑deposit bottle and can return program in Poland until 2026
Poland’s Lidl supermarket chain announced that its program for collecting PET bottles and aluminum cans not covered by the national deposit system has been prolonged. Customers receive a 10‑grosz voucher for each such container, and the scheme will now run until 30 September 2026.
The initiative operates through more than 950 “bottle‑machines” in Lidl stores. It was introduced ahead of the statutory deposit system that began on 1 October 2025, and already 85 % of returns are deposit‑eligible items. Lidl’s corporate‑relations director Aleksandra Robaszkiewicz said, “Program przyjmowania puszek i butelek plastikowych nieobjętych systemem kaucyjnym został przedłużony do 30 września 2026 roku.”
