Lidl recalls trout fillets due to Listeria contamination

Lidl has issued a recall for two varieties of Nautica brand rainbow trout fillets following the detection of Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products are ‘Nautica Regenbogen Forellenfilets Natur’ and ‘Nautica Regenbogen Forellenfilets Pfeffer’ (125g packs) with an expiration date of October 20, 2026.

The Danish supplier Danforel A/S warned that the bacteria can cause severe gastrointestinal illnesses and flu-like symptoms. High-risk groups, including pregnant women, infants, young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals, are particularly vulnerable to serious complications.

The recall affects multiple regions, including several German federal states (Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland) and Austria. Customers are advised not to consume the products and can return them to any Lidl store for a full refund, even without a receipt.
