Lido di Camaiore initiates disinfestation following Dengue case

Authorities in Lido di Camaiore have initiated precautionary pest control measures following a confirmed case of Dengue fever contracted by a tourist staying at a local accommodation facility.

In accordance with the health emergency protocols established by the Tuscany region, disinfestation efforts are scheduled to take place in the early hours of Tuesday, September 22, between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM. The operation will target several streets and avenues, including via Damiano Chiesa, via Roma, via Primo Maggio, via Curtatone, via Adua, via Boccella, via Bellini, via Foscolo, via Napoli, via Sacro Cuore, via Gigliotti, via Cardinale Pellegrinetti, via Papini, via Petrarca, via Leopardi, viale Colombo, and viale Pistelli.

Residents are advised to take specific precautions during the treatment, such as keeping doors and windows tightly closed and turning off air circulation systems. Pet owners should keep animals indoors and protect their supplies with plastic covers. For those with gardens, it is recommended to collect fruit and vegetables or protect plants with plastic sheeting. Following the treatment, authorities suggest waiting 15 days before consuming any produce that may have been sprayed, and advise thorough washing and peeling of any exposed fruit and vegetables.
