Liechtenstein Prime Minister Brigitte Haas conducts official visit to Vietnam
Liechtenstein Prime Minister Brigitte Haas is conducting an official visit to Vietnam from October 17 to 19, marking the first high-level visit between the two nations since establishing diplomatic relations in 2008.
During the visit, Vietnamese leaders, including Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng and General Secretary/President Tô Lâm, held talks with Haas. A major outcome of the visit is the signing of a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Vietnam and Liechtenstein, alongside the Vietnam-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Free Trade Agreement. These agreements are expected to reduce trade barriers, lower tariffs, and encourage investment flows.
Both sides identified key areas for future cooperation, specifically in science and technology, innovation, high-tech manufacturing, finance, and high-quality human resource development. Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng requested that Liechtenstein share expertise in investment fund management, green finance, and capital markets to support Vietnam’s strategic development goals for 2030 and 2045.
