Lien Khuong International Airport set to reopen August 19

Lien Khuong International Airport is preparing to resume operations on August 19 following a five-month suspension for runway and taxiway infrastructure upgrades. The renovation project included repairing the runway and taxiways, with the new 3km runway now capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft such as the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787.

In conjunction with the reopening, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has appointed Nguyen Van Hung, formerly the Chief of Staff of ACV, as the new Director of Lien Khuong International Airport.

As of early August, most major construction items are complete. Final tasks include finishing signal painting, installing taxiway edge lights, and completing power supply systems and signage. The airport is currently undergoing final cleaning, landscaping, and technical inspections to ensure readiness for domestic and international flights.
