Public safety and emergency services reinforced in Mexico and Spain
Various regions are implementing safety and prevention measures during the summer season. In Playas de Rosarito, Mexico, authorities have delivered four new emergency units, including a ladder truck and command vehicle, to strengthen fire and rescue capabilities. Local lifeguards are also conducting intensive monitoring to prevent drownings in deep waters.
In Spain, several safety initiatives are underway. The ‘¡Prevenidos, listos, ya!’ campaign, led by Fundación MAPFRE and SEMES Socorrismo, is hosting practical workshops at l’Albir beach to teach drowning prevention and first aid. Meanwhile, in Calp, rescue services conducted a simulation exercise to test response times and coordination between emergency teams.
Other regional updates include pest control efforts in Torredembarra, where drones are being used to detect mosquito breeding sites, and the announcement of the 2nd International Guitar Festival in Rosarito, which will offer free concerts and musical training.
