Liga MX announces Copa Promesas 2026-2027 youth tournament

Liga MX, in collaboration with Liga Premier and Liga TDP, has announced the creation of the Copa Promesas 2026-2027. This new Sub-21 tournament will feature 64 teams from various levels of Mexican football to strengthen youth development and provide a competitive platform for emerging talents.

The competition will run from September 8, 2026, to April 13, 2027. Participants include 18 clubs from Liga MX, 15 from Liga Premier, and 31 from Liga TDP. Teams will be organized into 16 regional groups of four to facilitate competition based on geographic location. Scouts from Liga MX clubs and the Mexican National Team are expected to attend matches to identify talent.
