Lil Nas X releases new single ‘World’s Greatest!’ dedicated to late mother

Lil Nas X has released his new single, ‘World’s Greatest!’, accompanied by a six-minute music video directed by Phillip Youmans. The track and video, filmed in the artist's hometown of Atlanta, serve as a deeply personal reflection on his recent life challenges and personal growth.

The release follows a turbulent period for the rapper, including a 2025 arrest in Los Angeles and subsequent legal proceedings related to a mental health crisis. A judge previously allowed him to enter a two-year treatment program for bipolar disorder in lieu of prison time.

The song is dedicated to his late mother, Tamikia Hill, who passed away in August. The music video and promotional materials feature an emotional voicemail from Hill, in which she encourages him to ‘walk by faith, not by sight.’ The artist described the phrase as a mantra that continues to resonate as he navigates his life and career.
