Lillestrøm defeats Vålerenga amid supporter vandalism

Lillestrøm SK defeated rivals Vålerenga 2-0 at Åråsen Stadium, but the derby was marred by significant vandalism from visiting supporters. Following the loss, Vålerenga fans caused extensive damage to the away stand, including destroying toilets, tearing off seats, and damaging LED advertising boards.

Lillestrøm manager Robert Lauritsen stated that the club will hold Vålerenga responsible for the repair costs, noting that the damage is more severe than in previous encounters. Vålerenga manager Svein Graff apologized for the behavior, describing the vandalism as “low-level” and noting that the actions of a few individuals do not represent the entire fan base.

On the pitch, Lillestrøm secured the victory through a free-kick goal by captain Ruben Gabrielsen in the 25th minute and a second goal from substitute Thomas Lehne Olsen during stoppage time.
