LILT donations and hospital school program aid pediatric oncology patients in Italy

The Italian cancer charity LILT in Reggio Emilia delivered €3,750 to the pediatric onco‑hematology department of Parma’s university hospital and €3,250 to the Aseop centre in Modena after the latest edition of its annual Pigiama Run. The nationwide event, now in its seventh year, attracted over 24,000 participants and raised €581,673 for pediatric oncology services across the country.

In Rimini, the newly launched “School in Hospital” programme allowed young cancer patients to sit for their national exams while receiving treatment. Students completed their middle‑school and high‑school examinations within the pediatric onco‑hematology ward, earning high marks, including a perfect score with honors. One participant reflected, “A stare fermi non succede niente” ("When you stay still, nothing happens").
