Lima Region launches S/ 979 million investment portfolio via Obras por Impuestos

The Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) and the Lima regional government unveiled a portfolio of 40 projects worth S/ 979 million, using the Obras por Impuestos mechanism to accelerate infrastructure and public services. The plan targets gaps in health, education, sanitation, agriculture, environment, transport and public safety, benefiting more than 900,000 residents across districts such as Oyón, Barranca, Yauyos, Cañete, Huaura and others.

Key allocations include S/ 314.6 million for 13 education projects, S/ 244.3 million for 15 transport works, S/ 97.5 million for five agriculture initiatives, S/ 50.8 million for sanitation, S/ 89.7 million for one security project, S/ 141.4 million for health and S/ 40.6 million for environmental actions. Executive Director Luis Del Carpio Castro said each project “is an opportunity for a family to access better services, for a student to learn in better conditions, for a farmer to produce more and for a community to be better connected.” Governor Nicolás Oscar Barrera highlighted the portfolio as a concrete route to address historic needs in the region. The initiative operates within an annual cap of S/ 2.069 billion for Obras por Impuestos, with contributions from the regional government, local municipalities and public universities.
