Limanowa to host historical walk commemorating local Jewish Holocaust

A historical walking tour titled ‘In the footsteps of Limanowa Jews and their Holocaust in 1942’ is scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Limanowa. Led by Karol Wojtas, the tour commemorates the 84th anniversary of the destruction of the local Jewish community.

The walk will visit sites associated with both the tragic events of 1942 and locations reflecting the long-standing coexistence between the Jewish and Catholic populations in the town. The tour begins at 5:00 PM at the District Tourist Information Center.
