Cyprus police seize over 380kg of ketamine in Limassol

Cyprus police have seized a total of over 380 kilograms of ketamine following two major operations in Limassol. An initial raid on Saturday uncovered 126 kilograms of the drug, while a subsequent discovery in a warehouse on Monday yielded an additional 260 kilograms.

Authorities arrested four individuals, described as two couples of Israeli and Palestinian nationality, during the coordinated efforts by the Drug Combat Unit and the Information Management and Analysis Service. Investigators believe the group is part of an organized criminal network that smuggles narcotics from Israel to Cyprus via luxury yachts docked at marinas in Limassol and Larnaca. The drugs were reportedly concealed within packaging for construction materials and sanitary equipment.

Justice and Public Order Minister Kostas Fytiris commended the police for dismantling the organized circuit, stating that combating drug trafficking is a central priority for the government. The suspects have been granted eight-day remands to allow the investigation to continue.
