Limoges City Hall faces restoration efforts after major fire
The Fondation du patrimoine has launched an urgent fundraising campaign to save the Limoges City Hall following a devastating fire on October 17, 2026. The historic building, constructed between 1879 and 1883, suffered extensive destruction, prompting immediate efforts to secure and preserve the remaining intact sections.
Under the supervision of the DRAC, emergency operations are underway to prevent further deterioration. Donations will fund priority safeguarding measures, the protection of preserved spaces, and the eventual restoration and reconstruction of the site, which remains a central piece of Limoges' local history.
