Lincoln Riley praises USC's new $200 million football facility

USC head coach Lincoln Riley highlighted a humorous anecdote from his early coaching days with former Texas Tech mentor Mike Leach, recalling how Leach chewed a large can of Copenhagen tobacco during a quarterback meeting.

Riley also toured USC’s newly opened Bloom Football Performance Center, a three‑story, 160,000‑square‑foot complex costing about $200 million. He described the building as “magical” and “a little bit of a dream,” noting its expanded locker rooms, sports‑medicine and nutrition labs, a state‑of‑the‑art weight room, recruiting terrace and dedicated NFL alumni space. The facility is expected to boost the Trojans’ training and recruiting ahead of their season opener against San Jose State.
