Line 4-Yellow metro expansion creates 400 jobs in São Paulo
Expansion works for the Line 4-Yellow metro extension in the São Paulo metropolitan area are progressing, with the project aiming to connect the capital to Taboão da Serra. The project involves the construction of 3.3 km of new tunnels and two new stations: Chácara do Jockey and Taboão da Serra. This marks the first time the metro system will expand beyond the territorial limits of the capital city.
Concessionaire Motiva has announced 400 job openings for various roles, including construction workers, drivers, and technicians, to support the works through 2026. At the project's peak, an estimated 4,000 employees will be mobilized.
Technical progress includes the opening of five deep shafts, reaching depths of approximately 32 meters, to serve as operational bases for heavy machinery. Excavation schedules for specific shafts are set for the second half of the year, with the goal of having all tunneling fronts operating simultaneously by mid-2028. The project, which involves an investment exceeding R$ 4 billion, is expected to serve approximately 50,000 passengers upon completion.
