LinkedIn AI-Generated Posts Reach 41% in New Study

A Pangram analysis of more than one million social‑media posts across LinkedIn, X, Reddit, Substack and Medium between April and June 2026 found that 41 % of long‑form LinkedIn posts were flagged as fully AI‑generated, with short‑form posts at 30 %. Although LinkedIn contributed only about a third of the posts scanned, it accounted for nearly two‑thirds of all AI‑generated content detected.

On X (formerly Twitter) close to half of long‑form articles were AI‑generated or AI‑assisted. Reddit replies remained 98 % human‑written, while standalone Reddit posts showed higher AI rates. Substack had the lowest long‑form AI presence at roughly 10 %. Pangram’s detection model claims 99.98 % accuracy and a false‑positive rate of 0.01 %.

LinkedIn has acknowledged the surge, offering an AI‑assistance button for post creation and saying it is taking steps to curb what it calls “AI slop.” The study does not assess content quality, but the sheer volume of AI‑generated text is prompting platform‑wide governance measures.
