LinkedIn has introduced a new "Seems like AI slop" button that lets users flag posts they suspect were generated by artificial intelligence. Reports are private and are used to inform the creator and to train LinkedIn’s classifiers, which reduce the reach of flagged posts in users’ feeds. The feature is part of a broader effort to improve content quality after research showed that more than 40 % of long‑form LinkedIn posts are fully AI‑generated. Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan said AI slop is a top priority, noting that the platform blocks hundreds of thousands of automated comment attempts each day and billions of AI‑generated attempts overall. LinkedIn is also retiring its "enhance your post" AI‑writing tool, replacing it with a grammar‑only proofreading aid to keep the user’s voice intact. The move follows similar actions by other platforms such as Snapchat, Substack and YouTube, which are all seeking to limit the spread of low‑quality, fully AI‑generated content.
