LinkedIn usage for dating seen as acceptable by 25% of professionals

A survey by CV-template platform Zety indicates that approximately 25% of professionals consider using LinkedIn for dating to be acceptable. The study, which polled 1,023 US employees, found that 22% of respondents have either initiated or responded to romantic outreach on the platform.

Despite LinkedIn’s community policies prohibiting romantic advances to ensure user safety, 12% of those surveyed reported forming romantic relationships that began on the site. Many users cited the perceived trustworthiness of LinkedIn profiles—due to verified education and career histories—as a reason for preferring it over traditional dating apps.

While some users utilize the platform for social and professional connections that may lead to dating, LinkedIn spokespeople emphasized that the company’s focus remains on protecting users from unwanted romantic advances.
