Lions Clubs launch charity Advent calendars in Germany
Various Lions Clubs in Germany have launched their annual Advent calendar fundraisers to support local community projects.
The Lions Club Datteln and Waltrop has released 8,000 calendars, priced at five euros each. Proceeds are designated for projects benefiting children and youth in both cities. The initiative features prizes valued at approximately 30,000 euros, including electronics, e-bikes, and hotel stays.
In the Oberberg region, the Lions Club Gummersbach-Aggertal, in cooperation with the Aggertal, Gummersbach, and Oberberg clubs, is celebrating its 22nd year of the tradition. This year's edition features the Bergneustädter Heimatmuseum on its cover. The club aims to distribute 200 prizes worth a total of 21,000 euros, continuing a long-standing tradition that has raised roughly 700,000 euros over two decades.
