Lions Club Tarquinia conducts vision screenings for 115 children
The Lions Club of Tarquinia organized free vision screenings to prevent amblyopia as part of the “Occhio ai Bimbi” service. The initiative took place on October 19 at the “Trieste Valdi” and “Luca Leoni” nursery schools, which are part of the IC “Ettore Sacconi”.
During the screenings, 115 children were examined by ophthalmology specialists Professor Alfonso Carnevalini and Dr. Laura Voccia. The results identified visual defects, including astigmatism and hypermetropia, in 14 of the children.
Club President Angelo Projetti emphasized the importance of early detection in preschool-aged children and expressed gratitude to the school staff for their cooperation in this annual prevention project.
