Lions Clubs in Chile and Argentina elect new presidents for 2026‑27 term

In Collipulli, Chile, the Lions Club held a ceremony at the Hostería Portal del Sur to transfer leadership for the 2026‑27 period. Outgoing president Adonis Subiabre Barrenechea presented the gavel and bell to incoming president Luis Gutiérrez Velásquez, a former governor. The new board includes Mario Grandón Castro (vice‑president), Emilio Narváez Rebolledo (secretary), Ramón Araneda Reyes (treasurer) and Subiabre as past president and zone chief. District officials and the Rotary Club of Collipulli attended.

In 9 de Julio, Argentina, the Lions Club marked its 60th anniversary with a leadership renewal on 9 July. Outgoing president Nancy Sosa handed the role to Marta Brizzi, who will serve as president for 2026‑27, with Marcela Irusta as secretary and Rubén Ávila confirmed as treasurer. The club highlighted community initiatives such as vision‑screening campaigns that helped over a thousand children, donations of eyeglasses, diabetes‑prevention work, and support for families of children undergoing cancer treatment.
