Lions Clubs in Dominican Republic and Uruguay Announce Projects and New Leadership for 2026‑2027
The Lions Club of Puerto Plata Norte in the Dominican Republic presented four community projects for its 2026‑2027 program, including a free insulin and metformin bank, a mobile vision and health unit, a management centre for program transparency, and a permanent club service centre. The initiatives seek partnerships with local banks and municipal authorities to expand health, education and social assistance for vulnerable residents.
In Uruguay, the Lions Club of Colonia Valdense held its annual ceremony to install its 2026‑2027 officers. President Eduardo de León was re‑elected, with a new director of programmes appointed. The club highlighted its ongoing social campaigns such as visual health screenings, food basket distributions and orthopedic material collections, and continued its community‑funded events like the annual town fiesta.
