Çlirim Haziri urges Kosovo President to review Specialized Chambers law

Çlirim Haziri, leader of the ‘JO NË EMRIN TIM’ initiative, has called on the President of Kosovo to carefully review the law regarding the amendment and completion of the Law on Specialized Chambers and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office.

Haziri urged the President to either decree the law or return it to the Assembly for reconsideration if any provisions are found to be unconstitutional or legally problematic. He emphasized that the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) requires a constitutional law that aligns with European standards and ensures fair judicial processes for its former leaders.

A key demand of the initiative is the establishment of a real, independent, and professional monitoring mechanism. This mechanism would involve cooperation with legal experts, universities, and institutes to evaluate procedures, evidence, and the respect for the fundamental rights of the accused, providing independent reports to the European Union and other international organizations.
