Lisbon Airport to implement fixed taxi tariffs in October
A new regulatory protocol will implement fixed taxi tariffs at Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport starting October 15. The agreement, signed by the Lisbon City Council, the Portuguese Taxi Federation, ANTRAL, ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal, and the Lisbon Tourism Association, aims to increase price transparency and reduce fraud.
For trips within Lisbon, the airport arrival zone will be divided into two tariff zones. Zone 1, covering nearby areas like Alvalade and Parque das Nações, will cost 16 euros during the day and 20 euros at night. Zone 2, including areas such as Benfica and Belém, will cost 19 euros during the day and 23 euros at night.
Fixed rates have also been established for destinations outside the city, such as Oeiras, Sintra, and Cascais. This measure follows recent police inspections at the airport that identified dozens of infractions, including irregular taximeters and insurance issues. The new system is intended as a transitional measure until a specific municipal regulation for the sector is approved.
