Lisbon City Council reports successful use of EU recovery funds

Lisbon City Council officials have reported a positive outcome regarding the use of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The municipality secured approximately 584 million euros in European funding, contributing to a total investment package of 905 million euros. Over 80% of this global investment was directed toward housing projects.

With the PRR execution period ending in August, the city faces the challenge of finding new financing sources to maintain infrastructure and housing investments. Officials indicated they may look toward the Sustainable 2030 European fund and potential bank financing, noting that the municipality maintains sufficient debt margin under legal prudence parameters.
