Lisbon named the world's happiest holiday destination

Lisbon has been named the world’s happiest holiday destination according to the latest Holiday Happiness Index by BookRetreats. The study analyzed 47 global destinations based on criteria including sunlight hours, sleep quality, access to healthy food, proximity to nature, and opportunities for physical activity.

Lisbon secured the top position due to its high number of annual sunshine hours, significant green spaces, and a high proportion of restaurants offering healthy food options. The city was also noted for being highly walkable despite its hilly terrain. Helsinki followed in second place, with Orlando taking third, Athens fourth, and Edinburgh rounding out the top five.
