Lise Klaveness accuses FIFA of ‘management by fear’ after executive firing

Lise Klaveness, president of the Norwegian Football Federation, has accused FIFA of using ‘management by fear’ following the dismissal of Chief Operating Officer Kevin Lamour. Klaveness described the firing as ‘unacceptable,’ noting that Lamour was removed shortly after he publicly criticized a proposed US$20-billion private equity project, which FIFA subsequently withdrew.

Klaveness, a former international player and UEFA executive committee member, urged other football leaders to resist orders that do not serve the interests of the sport. The Norwegian federation has also called for the resignation of FIFA president Gianni Infantino and supported a formal complaint regarding his political ties.
