Lithuania braces for back‑to‑back cyclones and heavy rain this week

Forecasters warn that Lithuania will be hit by two successive cyclones early in the week. Monday will see Cyclone Cerry II crossing central Lithuania, bringing scattered to heavy rain, thunder, and gusts up to 15–18 m/s along the coast. A second low‑pressure system is expected Tuesday night, again delivering rain and occasional thunderstorms, with wind gusts reaching 15–20 m/s in some coastal areas. Temperatures will fluctuate, dropping to 10–15 °C at night and rising to 17–22 °C during the day, before cooling again mid‑week to around 15 °C. Throughout the week, the weather will alternate between brief showers and periods of clearer, cooler conditions, with wind generally from the north‑west and gusts of 5–12 m/s inland. By the weekend, a return to drier and slightly warmer weather is forecast.

These conditions affect the entire country, impacting travel, outdoor activities, and local services.
